What is Whole Food Plant Based Nutrition?

It is simply a way of nourishing your body with 80/90% of your food comes from plants,(i.e. fruits, veggies, whole grains, and legumes) with water as your main drink. No dairy.

Did you know that the extensive research, like the China Study (Dr T Colin Campbell), the Blue Zones (Dan Buettner) and Forks over Knives (Dr Pam Popper) indicate that this choice gave better wellbeing outcomes than other dietary choice?  

How much water should I drink?

The average person loses about 6 to 8 glasses of water per day. You want to at least replace that.  However, you should drink more after exercise or if it is a particularly hot day where you may perspire more.  Children should drink half their body weight in ounces.

Did you know that research shows just a 2% drop in hydration can cause brain fog?  Please keep your hydration up.  

 

Why exercise?

We are meant to move.  Exercise impacts our overall wellbeing which includes flexibility, mobility, agility, mood, and attitude. That’s right! So move, dance, stretch, walk, run and resistance/weight bearing exercises will make a world of difference. 

Did you know that a little goes a long way?  Research shows that exercising 4/6 times a week for 20 minutes is better than 1/2 times for 2 hours.  The more often you move the better.  I do have a few apps and people that will get you moving.  

What about moderation?

Moderation is ambiguous in that it is subjective to you.  Moderation is an individual choice based on what I want to do. 

Ex: I eat candy in moderation.  What does that work for you? , once a day, once a week or once a month.  

However, it is important to consider if your moderation brings the best outcome or gets you closer to your desired goal. 

Is this about perfection?

Absolutely NO! This process is about progressing.  Setbacks, missteps, and life will happen; however the point is DO NOT QUIT.  The process is simple but it is by no means easy and it does get better as you make one simple change at a time.  

What product or products do you recommend?
